More Comebacks Than Westlife... But Here We Are Again ☘️

The Comeback You Didn't Ask For, But Might Just Need

If you’ve been on this email list a while, you’re probably rolling your eyes thinking “Not this fella again.” And you'd be right. There has been almost as many comeback emails as there has been Westlife farewell tours. But if you’re new here, welcome — pull up a chair, grab a cuppa, and let me explain.

Life, as it tends to do, got busy. The run club has been booming which meant I haven’t had the time to prioritise the email newsletter, I’ve also learned a thing or two along the way. The biggest lesson? It’s time I started prioritising my own life a bit more because if I am happy everything in life is easier and better!

When you build something from scratch, it becomes part of you. And Tribal, while it is my baby, it’s never made a cent. In fact, it’s cost me a good bit. But I don’t do it for money. What I have gained in life from Tribal could never be replaced financially. I do it because I love this industry, flaws and all. I see so much that needs fixing in fitness, and I’ve this mad notion I might be the one to change it.

I started Tribal to create the kind of community I wish I had when I first landed in Australia — a place where people feel seen, supported, and inspired. While some may disagree, I sometimes feel the growth has been slower than it could be as I’m not throwing money at ads or churning out cringey reels for likes. But that’s never been the point. This is about people. Real connections. Shared miles and shared laughs.

Which brings me, finally, to the point of this email. I want to do more for you — properly this time. Starting now, I’ll be sending out a weekly email (hopefully on Sundays — I won’t promise perfection), with run and strength sessions to guide you through the week ahead.

They’ll be general plans, but they’ll tie in with our two in-person Tribal runs over winter (Track & Long Runs) — so you can train with a group and not just your own inner monologue. I’ll also use these emails to keep you in the loop on where Tribal’s headed, and I’ll share the ups and downs as we go, not just the polished highlight reel.

I’m even going to try share more on my own social media…. not for vanity, hopefully, by sharing the struggles and the small wins, it’ll encourage you to chase your own passion — whatever that may be.

So here’s to the weeks ahead, to HYROX prep, marathon training, or simply getting to that sacred line: the start line. Because crossing that line? That’s the hardest part.

And remember, people will think you're mad at the start… until you're successful. Then suddenly you're a legend.

Thanks for always supporting Tribal and I look forward to seeing you on the track Wednesday at 7PM!

Le grá,

Ryan
